"The United Methodist Church believes God's love for the world is an active and engaged love, a love seeking justice and liberty. We cannot just be observers. So we care enough about people's lives to risk interpreting God's love, to take a stand, to call each of us into a response, no matter how controversial or complex. The church helps us think and act out of a faith perspective, not just respond to all the other 'mind-makers-up' that exist in our society."*

We, at Covenant United Methodist Church, believe that being actively involved in social justice is a call upon each and every one of us as United Methodists. We believe, as The Book of Resolutions states above, that "God's love for the world is an active and engaged love...", and it is our responsibility to act upon that love.

As we begin this journey of exploration, education, and action, we recognize the vast gaps in justice throughout our communities, and we simultaneously acknowledge our limitations. We have begun a newsletter to make interested persons aware of opportunities available for serving in a wide range of areas, and we are in the process of determining our current foci for the upcoming year.

If you are interested in serving alongside this group, would like to receive our newsletter, or just want more information, please reach out to Pastor Allison at pastorallison@covenantumc.net. In the meantime, check out our previous newsletters and ways to get involved.
